Top 3 Toronto Beaches

Serene Selfie at Ward's Island

I grew up in the city, but I am an island girl at heart. I am always torn between being the two!
Living in Toronto can be hetic at times.  Taking a staycay from the everyday can be what one needs to rejuvenate with some rest and relaxation without shelling out the dough or going through customs.
Here are my top beaches!

Toronto Islands – Wards Beach Park
The ferry to Ward's island and the Ward's beach

I love this beach so much and deserves my number one in Toronto. Ward’s beach is located at the southern tip of the  Toronto Islands. Although small,Ward’s Beach can be secluded for the most part as families and tourists choose to go Centre Island.

The houses are quaint and cottage like, I hope to own a small summer house there one day.

The sail boats in the summer can  often are a picturesque scenic ride back into core, bonus if you can catch the sunset coming back to the pier.

It is a beautiful perspective seeing Toronto, so close yet so far. Most notably the C.N. Tower from the other side.  I also recommend it as a perfect date if you are on a budget. If you want to impress your significant other I highly suggest taking them to the islands for a picnic. You can even rent tandem bikes to ride the trails.

Balmy Beach

Balmy beach is located 2 km east of Kew beach and a straight ride on Victoria Park Road south.  Again, my preference is based on a more secluded .  It’s a beautiful beach. In comparison, to other Toronto beaches this beach is clean. Even the sand seems to feel a little softer. Not too far from the beach are quaint little mom & pop shops to satisfy your sweet tooth or do some shopping on Queen Street East.
This Beach is one of the most beautiful in the Toronto area.  Selfie and Instagram approved!

Just beware that right there is an off leash dog area. But hey, if you're into dogs invading your personal space it might be for you too!

I would say the most crowded and busiest still gets on my faves list. Many memories of years of growing up going to this beach.
This is Toronto’s go-to beach. Fireworks celebrations like Victoria day and Canada day will always be held here.
This diverse beach is home to many different events, volley ball competitions, jazz festivals, and most recently, beaches food truck festival.
Every year is the Toronto’s premier Beach Jazz outdoor festival in which thousands of Torontonians and tourists from around the globe come down for the music and the festivities.
The board walk is also the place of scoping out tans and hot bods. Just a quick note!  Parking at Ashbridges can be the biggest hurtle coming here.  Always try to come early if you plan to drive.  I’ve witnessed many a fights over parking spot!
